Chile, with 1,694 people infected and two deaths from H1N1 virus, is the South American country with the largest number of patients, and fourth worldwide and first by number of inhabitants.
In the last week there registered 1,418 new cases which led to health services, both public and private to collapse nevertheless, it did not cause the generalized alarm it provoked in Mexico.
It is not common to find in the street, nor at airports people wearing masks, there is no suspension of classes in institutions where cases take place, or suspension of work, and the Chilean press did not address the subject in the front pages.
