United States congressmen travel to Honduras to learn about the crisis

Official sources said that “A mission of Republicans and Democrats from the United States congress travelled to Honduras today to hear reports on the crisis in the country following the coup against President Manuel Zelaya.

A spokesman of the Presidency saidd that “The Congress, led by Connie Mack, Republican from Florida, planned to meet today with new Honduran president, Roberto Micheletti, and will stay in Tegucigalpa until next Monday.”

He added that “will meet with members of Congress, judges of the Supreme Court, Public Ministry officials, businessmen and representatives of social sectors” and that “The objective of legislators is to verify the reality of the situation in Honduras since last June 28th, when military groups deposed  Zelaya and Parliament named Micheletti to take his place , until then head of the Congress.
