Ushuaia: Strong snow storm paralyzes the city and blocks Route 3
Big part of Tierra del Fuego undergoes a strong snowstorm, which forced to close since yesterday evening National Route 3 between Ushuaia and Tolhuin and Paso Garibaldi.
Authorities decreed a day off for the public administration and asked the population to avoid, if possible, leaving their houses.
Governor Fabiana Ríos signed today decree 1545, for which, provincial dependencies were closed, both in the capital and in Tolhuin.
Although teachers would return to schools today and students will resume classes on Thursday, only in Rio Grande this was possible, where the weather was good.
In spite of the visual spectacle, these conditions generate mishaps for local inhabitants. In some areas, the accumulation of snow, was coming to 70 centimeters. While in the National park La Pataia, it was one meter high.
