The discovery of a strange creature in Cerro Azul, Panama, sparked controversy among the people, for what some say might be a creature from another planet, others simply believe that it si just an animal.
Two young men were having fun on the hill when they saw at the entrance of a cave a creature that was approaching them. They were frightened and stoned it to death.
Panama’s Channel 13 showed images of a strange creature that appeared last weekend in Cerro Azul, east of Panama City, and that alarmed local residents.
According to Telemetro, polemic unleashed between those who believe it is an animal and those who think it’s an extraterrestrial creature.
No authority said anything about the find.
Telemetro said four children, aged between 15 and 16 , saw the “thing” out of the water fall of Cerro Azul and stoned it to death, afraid of being attacked.

It is bloated from decomposition and the story that these kids gave is more than likely false or greatly distorted, or the story reporting what they supposedly did and said is wrong…wrong. This creature was discovered after its death. But it was once a sloth.

Rather than assume, wouldn’t the government get scientists involved to check this out if it were thought to be anything other than a hairless sloth?

If you look closely at its long arms and long claws on its hands, together with the shape of its head, it looks like a hairless sloth. There is no such thing as a hairless variety of sloth, but a genetic defect or even a rare infection of some sort could have caused its hairless condition. It looks like a sloth that had several birth defects–absence of teeth, hairlessness, behavior, etc.–that had learned to survive despite the odds against it.
That it survived for so long is both a mystery and a miracle. It’s just a shame that it had to meet its demise in such a way.
If anyone had bothered taking tissue samples and having them analyzed, they would have discovered that it was, indeed, a sloth. Its claws are visible in the upper left and lower left shots in the 4-pic collage. It looks as though it was not fully developed at birth and that development stopped prematurely.
It’s very strange and very interesting that it survived for so long in its obviously underdeveloped condition.
It appears to be either a bloated corpse of a monkey or some kind of subterranean primate.
If it’s the former why no hair or teeth? If it’s the latter then why did it emerge in the daylight if it was subterranean?
No visible teeth so it could be some sort of algae eater or just a very old example of whatever species.
The curse of the internet and information as we might never hear about said creature and just what it is.
I think we’ll encounter more such beasts previously unknown as human-kind expands territory.
everyone is posting why the kids stoned it and whats wrong with them blah blah blah but after reading the posters names you can tell none of them bothered to translate the Spanish version in which the boys are explaining more then what the English version is saying.
the creature came after one of them and had grabbed him around the ankle and it came out of the water not the cave the kid didn’t say if he was hurt but did say he was scratched up ad from being grabbed
but I’m sure if it was Margaret she would have made love to it…too any people jump to conclusions without even picturing themselves there and having a few minutes to react maybe they shouldn’t have killed it but I’m sure if there are more of those things and you find out they eat kids THEN everyone would say a whole different story.
