A journalist from FM Metro was assaulted today in the morning as he was broadcasting live in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of Caballito, according to the radio’s production.

His name is Tomas Franceschin. He works for “El Parquimetro, Lado B”, in FM Metro. He was giving the weather forecast on Rosario and Centera when he was startled by the thieves, who regardless of the fact that he was working and going live at that moment, they decided to rob him anyway.

During the program’s broadcast the conversation was heard as he was being robbed: “give me the money, come on, give me the money” and himselff: “Hang on, I’m working. I’m broadcasting live for a radio program”. Then the line was cut suddenly as the thieves snatched his mobile phone.

Moments later, Franceschin, still shocked, called back the program and explained  that he had been assaulted as he was reporting on a man and a woman who were driving a motorcycle.

“I gave him the small change I had and he snatched my mobile phone, but when they were going away they asked me where I was going to be working the following day,” said later Franceschin to Diego Scott, the presentor of the show, who used to be hosted by Fernando Peña.
