At the Malbrán Institute they confirmed eight new cases of the H1N1 virus (swine flu) in Buenos Aires province, because of this, the Ministry of Health, asked the population to “remain vigilant” and to continue with precautionary measures to prevent further infections.
Claudio Zin, head of the Buenos Aires health ministry, repeated that “the new virus is still circulating in the country and that, while rising temperatures decrease the risk of contagion, people should be ‘vigilant’ .
Health authorities reported that “The new cases involved five people over 50, two youths aged between 15 and 24 and a childyounger than 4.”
They also added in the report that “In all cases, patients evolved positively” and that “three of those affected are from La Plata and the rest from Mar del Plata, Villa Gesell, Berisso, Tres de Febrero and La Matanza.”
Dr. Zin said that the high temperatures that are arriving with Spring decrease the likelihood of contracting respiratory diseases.
And that adviced people to do outdoor activities and ventilate homes and offices on warm days, which reduces the risks of contagion.
