The president of the Social Rural Argentina, Hugo Biolcati, said yesterday that holding meetings with the Government doesn’t make sense anymore if “we are not going to be given specific, concrete, and quick solutions to our demands”.
Biolcati warned that the businessmen commit a basic mistake when they consider that the government is an enemy of the agricultural sector:
“The government is the enemy of all employers, whether by the Media Act, or the nationalization of the AFJP. It seeks to keep everything and forever.”
He ensured that there’s no progress in the dialogue promised by the Government: “There is no answer”. It’s not that the relations are broken. When they have someting to say, I hope they call. And if not, let’s not waste our time anymore.”
”There’s no political decision. A change of attitude and the execution of specific, fast changes are needed. If it’s not like that, we can’t stay there waiting for nothing,” he added.
The rural leader was at the Sheraton hotel along with the holder of Argentina’s Industrial Union, Hector Mendez, with whom he agreed to restore the dialogue between both sectors.
He talked about the failure in the last meeting held with the Agriculture Minister, Julian Dominguez: “We were waiting for answers to the issues that had been raised, such as the execution of the agricultural emergency and Oncca, which remains a disaster. But there was no answer,” he said.
