The fifth edition of “Buenos Aires Photo, the largest international photographic art exhibition in Latin America, started this week with a selection of works from genres as diverse as pop art or painting.
The exhibition, which takes place in the Palace de Glace of Buenos Aires will continue until November first, brings together the work of artists from Spain and seven Latin American countries including Argentina, Peru and Chile.
“We see photography fairs very well established in Europe and North America, but this is the first exhibition specialized in our region,” said today Diego Costa Peuser, editorial director of “Arte al DÃa”, one of the organizers of the event .
“Buenos Aires Photo 2009″ whose organizers believe will surpass the 20,000 visitors of last year, is notable for the participation of international galleries and artists like Jacob Karpio and Fran Kaufman, from the United States.
The novelty of the show, however, is that it includes work performed using contemporary techniques of various kinds, from paintings to “pop art”, initiated by American Andy Warhol (1928-1987), to digital photography.
