According to the ruling, those convicted committed crimes of “serious injury, threats, public disorder and moral damage”.

The judge considered that “the primary motive for the attack was racism.”

Two of the Bada-Bing players, brothers Israel and Valentín Gómez Moreno, perpetrators of the attacks, who remain in jail since the incidents, received the higher penalties.

Valentin was sentenced to 6 years, 9 months and 18 days imprisonment for the crimes of injuries, threats and public disorder with the aggravation of racism, while his brother Israel must serve a term of 6 years and 9 days in jail.

The other players must comply with terms of between two and three years in prison, while a seventh player was acquitted because it “was not sufficiently proven that he participated in the aggression.”

The six convicts must pay  Rosario Central Team of the Third Regional Division of Catalonia, a total of 18,420 euros in reparations.

The girlfriend of one of those assaulted said she heard “absolutely racist insults”, listening to some of the accused saying: “We must end all these whobreed like rats “.
