LAN workers’ strike ends, airline reschedules flights

Moments ago, the unions announced the lifting of the strike, which affected the airline LAN, so the evening flights would begin to be reprogrammed.

Problems began at 5:30 am in Aeroparque (Buenos Aires City domestic airport). At that time, the five unions of aviation workers,  announced that LAN flights would not depart because they were on strike.

The measure, the workers explained, would affect both domestic and international routes of the company.

Of the total of 50 flights a day, 12 were finally canceled this morning and the remainder would be rescheduled, spokesmen for the companysaid said.

The head of the Association of Airline Pilots (APLA), Perez Tamayo, said that parties were summoned to the Labor Ministry to unlock the conflict.

Among the flights canceled were those from Buenos Aires to Calafate, Ushuaia, Tucuman, Neuquen, Cordoba, Mendoza, Bariloche and Iguazu, while the rest of the flights had been delayed.

LAN provided the affected passengers with snacks and allowed them to exchanged or return their tickets.
