South Korean model Daul Kim was found hanged in her Paris apartment Thursday, a spokeswoman for the city prosecutor’s office said.

The body of Daul Kim, 20, was discovered hanging in her flat on Thursday by her boyfriend in her Paris appartment. The Paris prosecutor’s office said that the South Korean’s death was probably suicide.

Interestingly, the 5′10″ Kim, who kept a blog called I Like to Fork Myself, wrote her last entry on Nov. 18 (the day before her death).

Daul was an accomplished painter and videographer. She recently confessed to feeling exhausted by her hectic work schedule.

In an Oct. 30 entry on her blog, Kim wrote she was “mad depressed and overworked,” and in another entry said “the more i gain the more lonely it is … i know i’m like a ghost.“

Some in the fashion industry speculate that the pressures of the super-competitive modeling world got to Daul. Eating disorders and substance abuse are common in the youth- and perfection-obsessed industry.

In April 2007 she posted a picture of herself holding a hammer next to her face and, after complaining of a rigorous travel schedule, wrote: “I am going to smash my face… My life as daul was so miserable and lonely. Please join my loneliness in another world. I love you all. Daul.” She then added. “KIDDING. Im fine. Just tired.”

South Korean embassy spokesman Lee Seung Yoo told AFP that French police “have informed us that Korean citizen Kim Daul committed suicide in her apartment yesterday afternoon.”

“One of her friends found her body hanging in her apartment” in the city’s 10th arrondissement, or district, he added. “Her family are coming to Paris from Seoul and will be arriving this evening or tomorrow morning.”

“We are in shock and profoundly sad to learn of the death of Daul Kim,” said Patrick Lemire, booking director at Marilyn Agency, which had worked with Kim.

Kim, who appeared on the cover of her home-country’s edition of both Vogue and Haper’s Bazaar, is the ninth South Korean celebrity apparently to commit suicide this year. They include male model Kim Ji-hoo, 23, who was harassed on line after coming out as a homosexual.
