Civic Coalition congresswoman Elisa Carrio said she saw former President Néstor Kirchner as “a weak and collapsed man” after the loss of the ruling majority in both houses.“What happened on Thursday is the start of a personal collapse,” said Elisa Carrio, aka Lilita.
Lilita, who gave her remarks on radio statements, asserted that the collapse will cost Nestor Kirchner the loss of the PJ’s leadership. At the swearing-in of the new deputies last Thursday, Kirchner got the minority of voting after six years in power. With this defeat, the opposition, Carrio included, knows this meant a very strong psychological blow to the former president who from now on, should seek consensus if he wants to impose his policies. The Lower House chief, kirchnerist Eduardo Fellner, said today that the Government House will now have to have “more dialogue” with the different blocs that do not support the officialist party.
