Roberto Sanchez, better known as Sandro, received a heart-lung transplant on November 20 and although his evolvement had been very favorable so far, doctors reported that he had a lung infection and underwent emergency surgery.
According to the medical staff, the artist had this complication because of a germ he brought from Buenos Aires. He had been controlled with antibiotics, but in the last hours an advanced surgical intervention was needed, including a tracheotomy.
Yesterday, Sandro had endured a not very high fever that was controlled. The singer had been doing the necessary rehabilitation to increase muscle strength, after having undergone lung rejection last Thursday.
According to his doctors, Sandro sufers from a hemodynamic condition caused by the bacterium Acinetobacter Baumann. The risk is that the infection invades other parts of the body.
