Education Minister Abel Posse said that he does not intend to resign and he accused the teachers unions of not being politically open to enter into dialogue.
“My resignation is totally out of question”, said Posse, adding that “at this point he is before a wall of irrationalism,” referring to the criticism made by the teachers union, which organized a protest to oppose him outside the Government Headquarters.
“Politics reasoning prevails over schools reasoning,” shot the officer, who sees himself as a victim of the teachers’ “political ill-will”. He added that now there is a wave of opposition against him even when he was a representative of all democratic governments and he was praised.
Speaking on radio, Posse also criticized the Executive by calling all the obstacles imposed on his management and Macri’s “absurd”.
The minister warned of the consequences that the teachers’ claims may have: “We’ve had one of the worst education years in history, with less than 180 school days in most of the country while in some regions there were only nearly 120 class days, which is practically the collapse of the educational system.”
Therefore he believes that the solution to the problems addressed will be reached through dialogue.
Teacher unions have threatened yesterday to not begin classes next year if Posse doesn’t resign.
