After the failed attack on a Delta Airlines flight, the flaws in the security system came to light and Barack Obama plans to dismiss his Cabinet.
Obama received information in a private briefing leading him to conclude that the failed Christmas Day attack by a Nigerian national could have been prevented, according to the New York Times.
“The president was told during a private briefing on Tuesday morning while vacationing here in Hawaii that the government had a variety of information in its possession before the thwarted bombing that would have been a clear warning sign had it been shared among agencies, a senior official said” wrote the newspaper.
The question on many political minds is whether Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will keep her post after security and intelligence failures allowed the attempted terror attack on Christmas Day.
One of Napolitano’s primary tasks is to piece information together from all the different agencies to prevent terror attacks. And reports are indicating that the CIA, NSA, and other agencies had plenty of intelligence that would have prevented the Christmas bomber from boarding a plane to the States.
