Some shops in the mall “Torres del Sol” in Pilar were robbed by a gang of criminals who took about $100,000 in jewelry and cash.
The mall is located at kilometer 50 on Panamericana. Criminals subdued the security staff and robbed a jewelry store, a tours house and a harness store.
The jewelry’s owner, known as “Cormery,” said the assailants took $ 100,000 in jewelry that were displayed on the shelves in the store. Meanwhile, they took the cash from other shops.
According to the police report, none of the people who were in the shopping mall were injured. However, some traders suffered a nervous breakdown as they were taken hostage for a short time.
The Functional Unit of Instruction 3 and the Head of Pilar are investigating the case and they are trying to catch the criminals but there has been no arrests yet. Following the assault, the mall continued working normally.
