Looks like Russell Brand is trying to outdo everyone with his vacation gift for Katy Perry. Their relationship has looked like a picture of young, famous, transatlantic romantic bliss ever since the two hooked up following the MTV VMAs.
“He built this for me …” the “I Kissed a Girl” singer Tweeted from their holiday in Agra, India, along with a picture of the casually dressed globetrotting couple in an embrace against the backdrop of that marble marvel the Taj Mahal.
Considered one of the world’s most beautiful monuments to eternal love, the Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century by Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his bride, Mumtaz Mahal, who had died during the birth of one of their many children.
Earlier this week, it was rumoured that Brand had proposed to Perry after a courtship that began, by many accounts, at the MTV video music awards in mid September, at which Perry performed and Brand served as host.
