The Italian Treasury claims that Maradona has a debt that rises to 37 million Euros (53 million US dollars) because of unpaid taxes, that’s why they confiscated a diamond earring from him when last september 18 Diego visited the land he filled with magic while wearing Napoli’s light blue shirt in the mid 80’s. The object was put out for auction and was sold for 25.000 euros (36.000 USD).
The auction started at 5.500 EUR (8000 USD), but raised it’s cost in the dispute between a woman, allegedly from Southern Italy, and a misterious man that spoke through his cell phone.
The debt is increased daily in 3.000 EUR (4300USD) only because of interest. Maradona owes that much as he supposedly didn’t pay what Italians call Physical Person Tax (IRPF)(tax for people that earn a certain amount for themselves), when he lived in Naples.
Italians also confiscated a golden Rolex when Maradona went to relax in an exclusive spa last september.
In any case, the total debt is most certainly unpayable for, with any property or good that Argentina’s National team coach has at the moment.
They’ll just have to auction his left leg but Diego won’t let go easily for sure.
