National Health Ministry of Argentina reported that since August 1, there is people suffering from dengue in five provinces. Missions is the province which has major problems, with 50 patients.
A new wave of dengue virus serotype 1 (den1) emerged in Puerto Iguazú, Misiones. The city is on high alert since mid December there were 50 patients have tested positive, 20 of them, reported in January.
In the city of Buenos Aires 4 cases were confirmed, while in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Corrientes, Entre Rios and Santa Fe were 6 cases in total.
“The local circulation of dengue virus is now confined to the northern province of Misiones, which is the area in contact with Paraguay, where there are 178 confirmed dengue cases,” Sergio Sosa Estani said from the National Health Ministry.
“In the rest of the country are cases of people who were infected with dengue in Misiones province or in other countries,” he added.
