A couple hammered down a barrier that blocks access through the international bridge, and after attacking the assemblies that were there, managed to go to Fray Bentos.
Gualeguaychu Environmental Assembly reported the incident that occurred this morning in Arroyo Verde. Furthermore, dozens of vehicles were able to go through the boundary bridge, as they were supposedly authorized by the owners of a ranch.
Witnesses say the couple is about 30 or 40 years old and they were travelling in a Fiat Duna along with a minor.
As they got to the blockage, the man would have broken the barrier of Route 136 with a hammer, while the woman “grabbed assembly member Alejandra Crimella by the hair and punched her in the face”.
Five policemen tried to intercede, but the car managed to pass through the broken barrier.
Moreover, assembly members complained that many cars went through a rural residence near the blockage.
