Argentinian football star Juan Roman Riquelme could return for Argentina’s National team. AFA president Julio Grondona talked with him, and now it seems doors are open to make peaces with coach Diego Maradona.
Riquelme quit playing for Argentina almost a year ago, when Maradona, in a TV show, criticized Riquelme´s actions in the field.
For that reason, Riquelme said that they “do not handle the same codes, so he decided to resign officially to play for the “albicelestes”.
Without Boca Juniors’ midfielder, Argentina showed a poor performance at the World Cup qualy, even with the presence of FIFA player of the year Lionel Messi.
Less than a month ago came the first approach, made by the president of AFA, who would mediate for the player to return.
Based on some reports, Riquelme would accept only if Maradona himself calls him back.
