Brittany Murphy died from pneumonia, multiple drug intoxication, and “iron deficiency anemia,” Los Angeles coroners said today, ruling the star’s death an accident.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office said the full autopsy report concerning the 32-year-old “Clueless” actress would be available later this month.
Murphy died on December 20 at her home in Los Angeles. Her sudden death caused shockwaves to ripple across the entertainment industry and triggered inevitable speculation that drugs were responsible.
Murphy was known during the 1990s before grabbing notable roles in “Clueless,” the Oscar-winning “Girl, Interrupted,” “Sin City,” “8 Mile” and animated hit “Happy Feet.”
She provided the voice of Luanne Platter in more than 200 episodes of the animated television sitcom “King Of The Hill.”
Brittany was raised by her mother, Sharon, in New Jersey before moving to Los Angeles.
