Michael Jackson’s personal doctor, the cardiologist Conrad Murray, is facing a charge of involuntary murder for allegedly giving Jackson an overdose of propofol. “Thriller” singer’s family plans to attend today’s arraignment for the embattled doctor.
The king of pop’s parents, Katherine and Joe, along with siblings Jermaine, Tito, La Toya and Randy and several of Michael’s nephews are expected to turn up around noon for the hearing at the Airport Branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court to witness the doctor’s formal surrender.
While Michael’s three children will not be present, the source added that Joe Jackson flew in to L.A. over the weekend to plug his latest music venture be there specifically to seek “justice for his son.”
The doctor, who was with the singer on the night he had the cardiac arrest, has repeatedly denied causing Jackson’s death.
“I told the truth and I have faith the truth will prevail,” he said in a video posted on YouTube last August.
Bail for the doctor is likely to be set at $25,000.
