The prominent and renowned Spanish writer Fernando Savater said from Mexico that “currently violence suffering in some countries in Latin America is creating kingdoms ruled by thugs within States.
The writer is in the northern city of Monterrey, capital of Nuevo Leon state, where he will participate in the annual meeting of Trustees of the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).
He said that “to combat violence, the countries of Latin America must strengthen the rule of law, consolidate weak democracies, deepen the fight against corruption and upholding civic values.”
Savater stated that “In his more than 40 years as an academic has never found a girl or a boy who is not interested in truth, justice, death, freedom, but they are not interested in the word philosophy.”
