Two and a Half Men is suspended as Sheen enters rehab
CBS and Warner Bros TV will temporarily halt production on Two and a Half Men while Charlie Sheen seeks treatment.
The companies have responded to a statement from Sheen, 44, announcing that he was taking an immediate leave of absence from the show to check into a rehabilitation facility.
“CBS, Warner Bros Television and [producer] Chuck Lorre support Charlie Sheen in his decision today to begin voluntary in-patient care at a treatment centre,” read the statement.
It continued: “We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter. Production on Two and a Half Men will be temporarily suspended.”
The network’s most-watched comedy is in its seventh season and five episodes short of its 23 CBS order for the current season.
The events follow Sheen’s Christmas Day domestic violence arrest and reports that he has been urged by friends to enter rehab after returning to alcohol. His wife Brooke Mueller went into rehab herself earlier this month, then switched centres amid complaints that her privacy was breached.
