Jorge Srodek, CARBAP vice president, said that tomorrow the Linkage Board will meet to decide whether to lift the agricultural strike on Friday.

On the fourth day of agricultural strike, the head of the Argentine Rural Society (SRA), Hugo Biolcati said today that the strike is “necessary” but did not know if  “it will be useful.”

The controversial leader of Entre Ríos province farmers, Alfredo De Angeli, warned this morning that “if the President goes to incite people in five minutes will be blocking roads”, making reference to the mood of the farmers of the interior, a few hours in the seventh strike of the sector against the government led by Cristina Fernandez.

María del Carmen Alarcón, a former official of the Kirchner administration who parted ways with the government party in 2006 opposing its agricultural policies will now be appointed National Integration Secretary and is expected to meet President Cristina Fernández today.

Anibal Fernandez, chief of Cabinet received instructions from president Cristina Fernandez, to call in for talks the farmers’ Linkage Board, the idea would be to meet next Friday at about 4:00 pm.

Eduardo Buzzi, president of the Agrarian Federation, in radio declarations this morning, declared that the leaders who represent dairy farmers need to listen to the claims of the sector and order to stop milk commercialization.
