Firefighters and police recovered the bodies of two dead men from the wreckage after yesterday’s fire but 1,200 people escaped. Seventeen people were injured and taken to hospital.
The incident raised memories of a supermarket fire in central Asuncion five years ago that killed 420 Paraguayans.
Officials say 17 people were injured and taken to the hospital.

Argentina’s hopes of qualifying for the World Cup got another severe blow as an out of sorts the local national team was beaten by by Paraguay 1-0 in Asuncion. Paraguay has joined Brazil as the second South American team to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa.
